Hope Changes Everything

On Wednesday 13 July, Glen Gerreyn from The HopeFull Institute visited the College to talk to the Year 9 cohort about his life experiences and how hope can change the outcome of your life for the better. The students were engaged and impressed with Glen's inspirational presentation, as can be seen by the below feedback.

His talk, which went for around 80 minutes, was filled with motivational quotes and stories that helped us to appreciate the value of our lives. Throughout his talk he emphasised on the fact that everyone’s lives have purpose and that we shouldn’t waste any time doing things that don’t have any meaning.

Overall, his talk was very motivational and gave us all inspiration to try and change our lives for the better.

I really enjoyed Glen Gerreyn's presentation. What I found very inspirational was where he first started his vision to change people’s lives. Many of his dreams and goals in life were ruined due to poor health, but still out of this dark season, he made a youth centre without any significant financial help. I thought it was really cool to see that you can succeed, even with an illness, no money, no experience and only with some help from his family.

During my time with Glen Gerreyn I was inspired, and he made me think about what I really want to do in life. He said that you need to identify your skills and talents and then continue to strengthen and nurture them. Since the presentation I have really been focusing on what I need to do to achieve my goals, including studying and practicing them more often.
