Recently Middle School students participated in a Life Education session with presenter, Claire Trethewey (Life Education Queensland) as part of the Student Enhancement Program.
The Life Education program provides accurate and informative information in the area of sexual health matters. The students gained or extended knowledge of topics such as the changes puberty brings, what consent means, the legal aspects of sexual activity, STIs, contraception and safe sex. The presenter’s use of the terminology in a clinical, friendly and open manner allowed students to ask questions and seek clarity around some topics that students may feel are sometimes hard to discuss. The presentations are designed to help students to make educated choices and allow them to communicate with their parents with more confidence.
