This week CSIRO accepted the Silver Crest Award projects from Casi McDonnell and Anika Green of Year 10.
Casi is investigating the effect of carbon dioxide levels on coral while Anika is investigating the production of biodiesels and the energy generated from the renewable resources. In order for the projects to be approved, the students must complete trial experiments, write a project proposal and demonstrate the real world application of their proposed work.
The girls recently showcased their ideas at Open Day in the CLI. These students will commence their projects after exams and will work through until to the end of year.
