Junior School students took part in The Great Book Swap recently which saw funds raised go to a very worthy cause.
The event raised $439.50 which was almost double last year’s efforts. The Great Book Swap is an initiative of to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, a national book industry charity, which aims to reduce the disadvantage experienced by children in remote Indigenous communities across Australia. The foundation focusses on lifting literacy levels and instilling a lifelong love of reading in indigenous communities. All funds raised go to bridging the literacy gap by providing books and literacy programs to communities that need them most.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed browsing through the many books on offer and we were happy to see so many students excited about taking a new book home to read.
