If you saw a class of Ormiston College students walking down Dundas Street West with clipboards recently, you were witnessing Year 7 Geography students at work planning for the future development of the campus. During Term 2, Year 7 Geography are actively investigating a real-world problem, specifically what should be built on the vacant lot of land beside the Junior Campus to improve the educational, sporting or cultural outcomes of Ormiston College. The assignment also involves students working collaboratively in groups to make and justify their decision using email and Microsoft Word, mirroring the modern workplace in this valuable learning experience. It is hoped their ideas will be displayed at Ormiston College’s Open Day.
