Today marks the ninth National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence (NDA). It is an opportunity for the whole school community to 'take a stand together' against bullying.
The NDA gives schools the chance to take action and empower young people to be part of the solution when addressing bullying in their school community. It provides an opportunity to focus on bullying and the big changes we can make to create safer communities for everyone.
The 2019 National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) has a new theme: Bullying. No Way! Take action every day. This theme builds on the 2018 journey to imagine a world free from bullying, by inviting school communities to turn big ideas into action. Parents, teachers, students or members of the community can turn ideas into action and help deliver a powerful message that bullying and violence are never okay.
In the Secondary School, the School Community Committee created an interactive floor display within the CLI to raise awareness and encourage positive behaviour from all students at the College. They also communicated with students in the Secondary School in to the lead up to day of action about where to get help.
This is an opportunity for authentic student voice, with teachers supporting students to actively participate in our school community and influence outcomes.
