We ignite bright sparks in the classroom.

Throughout the history of education, generations have never known the speed of change that has been experienced over the past decade. As technology continues to evolve, it is imperative that methods of teaching and learning progress, advance and redevelop.

The Ormiston College award-winning Teaching and Learning Framework supports our team in delivering the best educational outcomes for all our learners. Our unique framework aims to create a strong foundation with an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy skills, while at the same time, providing the blueprint and tools for our teachers to plan relevant and meaningful learning experiences where students are able to develop the competencies needed for a rapidly changing future.

Ormiston College’s Award Winning Teaching and Learning Framework is one of Australia's best

Greater Connectedness to the Curriculum

Whilst the Australian Curriculum tells us ‘what teachers will teach’ and ‘what students will learn’, it does not provide the ‘how’ to explicitly plan, teach and access 21st century priorities.

At the heart of every program we deliver, our unique framework guides teachers as ‘learning architects’, providing a greater connectedness to the curriculum, the individual modern learner and the world beyond the classroom.

What sets Ormiston College apart from other schools is how we have embraced authentic learning experiences so that our students gain lifelong learning skills.

At the core of the model is our strong emphasis on the lifelong learner, which is inclusive of all members of our community: students, parents and staff. We believe, that given an effective classroom learning environment and an academically rigorous curriculum that is relevant and meaningful, everybody has the capacity and the right to learn every single day.

Measurable 21st Century Skills

The Ormiston College Teaching and Learning Framework supports our team in delivering the best educational outcomes for all our learners.

Our framework aims to create a strong foundation with an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy skills, while at the same time, providing the blueprint and tools for our teachers to plan relevant and meaningful learning experiences where students are able to develop the competencies needed in a rapidly changing future.

Students will require these skills well beyond the 21st century; however, by developing these competencies, we hope to support our children and develop their ability to adapt, change and continue to learn well beyond their school years.

A Whole College Approach to Learning

At the core of the model is our strong emphasis on the lifelong learner, which is inclusive of all members of our community: students, parents and staff. We believe, that given an effective classroom learning environment and an academically rigorous curriculum that is relevant and meaningful, everybody has the capacity and the right to learn every single day.

The Framework is a simple model that captures the complexity of the work that occurs in the classrooms every day. It focuses on ensuring we get the basics right, while at the same time allowing us to foster an environment of innovation and continuous improvement that is forward thinking.

They also love that it is innovative and they enjoy the world-class facilities and environment of the beautiful campus in which they learn.
