The Ormiston College Swim Academy is where our students, parents, staff and members of the public come together to enjoy swimming in an inclusive, positive and friendly environment. Everyone is welcome, from OC students and their families to members of the general public!
The Ormiston College Swim Academy offers a year-round swim program at our Aquatic Centre which features a heated 10 lane 25 metre outdoor pool and a state-of-the-art heated indoor learn to swim pool.
Program
Our program is made up of three stages - Learn to Swim, Stroke Development and Squad Training – each with established levels and key milestones. Our Learn to Swim and Stroke Development programs focus on developing sound technical foundations and our skilled instructors encourage a love of swimming. Swimmers then progress to Squad Training where technique and skills are refined for greater efficiency, speed, and race performance.

Wet Weather Policy
The safety of your children and our staff is paramount but as a general rule we do not cancel lessons or training when it is raining. If the rain is accompanied by strong or severe winds or lightning is present then lessons or training will not proceed – we will always make a timely call and attempt to contact you by email.
If the weather hits in the course of lessons or training we will manage it as necessary – but always conservatively. If lightning is present then swimmers will be immediately removed from the pool - they will not be allowed back in the pool until 30 minutes after the lightning has ceased. Please note that if your children are removed from the pool they will be supervised by our staff until you collect them.
If at any time you feel uncomfortable with the weather feel free to make your own call. If you decide not to come, please mark the absence in the app at least one hour prior to the non-attendance and book a make-up lesson where there are classes available.
If we call off the lesson, we will note the roll accordingly and you will be able to book a make-up lesson where there are classes available.
Please note that there are no refunds in the event of a wet weather washout.
Make-up Lesson Policy
In an effort to be sensitive to the pressures of busy family life we offer three make-up lessons per swimmer per term.
Absences must be marked at least one hour before the class via the online parent portal or the app. If you fail to notify us for any reason a make-up will not be available for that absence.
If your swimmer is unable to attend a booked make-up class, regrettably, we are unable to reinstate this lesson and the make-up token will expire.
All make-up lessons must be taken in the same term as the missed lesson.
Make-up lessons are subject to availability and if you cannot book a make-up lesson because all suitable classes are otherwise full, the make-up token will be forfeited.
Any unbooked make-up tokens at the end of the term are forfeited and are not refunded.
Please note that we do not permit accrued make-up tokens to be carried from one term to the next. This policy is applied without exception.
Cancellation Policy
All bookings are non-refundable.
We strive to offer as much flexibility as possible by offering term‑by‑term bookings and allowing changes to days or times (subject to availability) when needed to support changing schedules.
