This term, our Year 6 students concluded their entrepreneurship journey with an exciting showcase of their ideas and solutions. The initiative, delivered in partnership with Future Anything, challenged students to think like social entrepreneurs, identifying global issues, brainstorming solutions, and creating original prototypes designed to make the world a better place.
Throughout the year, students explored topics such as ‘What is an Entrepreneur?’, ‘Why do global issues matter?’, and ‘How can we create change?’ as part of their Social Enterprise unit. Building on these foundations, they worked in groups to ideate, prototype, and refine their concepts. In August students had the opportunity to connect with Claire Pink from Farmers2Founders, sharing their ideas and getting feedback to their questions.
The Showcase, held on Thursday 9 October, transformed the classrooms into an exhibition of ideas. Parents were invited to walk through displays, engage with students, and learn about the innovative solutions they had developed. Prototypes were varied, from beach cleaning robots to colour-changing, cooling hats and small, foldable (and stink free!) bins to keep in your backpack. Each group presented their prototype alongside a marketing pitch, highlighting not only their product but also the purpose behind it.
This hands-on experience has strengthened essential skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity, while connecting with real-world issues.
We are incredibly proud of the passion and effort our Year 6 students have invested in this project over the year.
