On Friday, 30 January, the Ormiston College community gathered in the CLI Plaza and Northern Courtyard for the annual Welcome Back BBQ. This vibrant event marked the beginning of the 2026 school year and provided a warm, relaxed setting for families to reconnect after the excitement of the first week.
The afternoon gave parents and students the opportunity to meet teachers, Year Level Coordinators, and members of the Leadership Team in an informal setting. These conversations helped families gain insight into the year ahead while initiating relationships that are central to the Ormiston College experience.
Live music from five talented Year 12 performers added to the atmosphere, with their selection of popular songs creating an uplifting backdrop for families as they chatted and enjoyed the sunshine.
A highlight of this year’s event was the chance to explore the newly reopened Centre for Learning and Innovation. Families were able to step inside the reimagined innovative learning spaces, discover new facilities, and take part in a range of fun activities.
With the smell of grilling sausages, the sound of music, and the buzz of conversation, the Welcome Back BBQ once again demonstrated the warm, inclusive spirit that defines the Ormiston College community.
