On Thursday 16 July, past and present Prefects came together for a special morning of connection at the 15th Biennial Prefects’ Breakfast. The event welcomed former Prefects from graduating classes spanning 1995 to 2025, alongside the current 2026 Prefect cohort, creating a unique opportunity to engage with fellow alumni, current student leaders and Ormiston College staff members.
The morning commenced with an introduction from Alumni Association Committee President, Chelsea Pronk (Class of 2004), who welcomed attendees and provided an update on the Alumni Committee and its activities.
Headmaster Michael Hornby then addressed the gathering, acknowledging the significance of bringing together leaders from across three decades of Ormiston College history. His presentation offered alumni valuable insight into the latest news, achievements and developments at the College.
Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast while Year 12 Choral Program Captains provided beautiful background music.
The event concluded with heartfelt thanks from the 2026 College Captains, Ella Jefferies and John Cowen, who expressed their appreciation to all those who attended. In their closing remarks, they reflected on the value of connecting with former Prefects and the inspiration gained from hearing their stories and leadership journeys. They emphasised the importance of events such as the Biennial Prefects’ Breakfast in offering current student leaders the opportunity to learn from those who have come before them, drawing on their experiences, as they shape their own leadership pathways.
