In a remarkable season, Ormiston College is celebrating a double triumph after being named overall champions at both the Bayside District School Sport and The Associated Schools (TAS) cross country carnivals.
The Bayside District Cross Country carnival, held on Wednesday 7 May at Capalaba Regional Park, saw Ormiston College cross the line as 13-19 Years Champions for the second consecutive year. It was an outstanding team performance, with 29 Ormiston College students qualifying to represent Bayside District at the 2025 Metropolitan East School Sport Cross Country Trials.
Competing against member schools on Tuesday 20 May, Ormiston College secured the title of Champion School at the TAS Cross Country carnival. Several students claimed individual victories in their respective age groups including 13, 14, 15 and 16 years boys and 16 years girls. The top results from the boys lead to Ormiston College also claiming the Aggregate Boys and Percentage Boys Champion School trophies.
"Winning both the Bayside and TAS cross country events is an incredible achievement for our Cross Country team," said Mr Michael Hornby, Headmaster of Ormiston College. "It is a reflection of the commitment, perseverance and talent of our athletes, as well as the dedication of our coaching staff."
The College’s performance across the two events is a noteworthy achievement demonstrating the depth and consistency of the team.
