The Ormiston College Redbacks have once again demonstrated their sporting ability, finishing Trimester 2 as Champion School for a remarkable tenth consecutive year. The milestone reflects not only sustained excellence, but also the depth of talent displayed across the College’s sporting programs.

A total of 32 teams proudly represented Ormiston College throughout the season, competing in Girls Hockey, Girls Netball, Boys Rugby and Boys Tennis. All students are to be applauded for their commitment, drive and passion throughout the season.

Our Hockey players secured premierships in the 2nd XI and Intermediate 2 divisions while the Girls Hockey program earned Champion School honours. Boys Tennis continued its outstanding tradition, winning Champion School and securing premierships in the 3rd IV, Intermediate 2 and Intermediate 3 divisions. Netball achieved a record-breaking milestone with five Shield teams and celebrated premiership success through the Year 9A and 3rd VII teams. Our Cross Country athletes demonstrated tremendous determination, claiming both the 16 Years Boys and Open Boys divisions at the TAS Carnival.

What stands out most from the season is the growth of our students. Across every training session, match, race and competition, our students demonstrated a commitment to improvement. They developed new skills, built confidence and formed lasting friendships, overcame setbacks and discovered the value of persistence and consistent effort.

The success of Trimester 2 sport has been a collective effort. All the players, coordinators, coaches, managers, volunteers, families and supporters are to be commended on an outstanding Trimester 2 of sport.

With Trimester 2 now complete, attention turns to the next chapter of the competition. Trimester 3 will see students take to the court and field in Boys Basketball, Boys Football, Girls Touch Football and Girls Volleyball. With strong momentum behind them, the Redbacks look forward to another exciting and competitive season.
