School spirit was on full display as students, staff, families and alumni came together on Friday 11 September for the inaugural Silent Night, a new initiative started by the 2026 Year 12 cohort.

The evening saw our current Girls Volleyball and Boys Basketball teams take on teams of Ormiston College alumni in a celebration of sport, community and College pride.

A unique feature of the evening was the Silent Night tradition. Spectators remained completely silent throughout both games until Ormiston College scored its 10th point. Once that milestone was reached the crowd erupted into cheers.

Adding to the excitement, students embraced the Australian-themed dress-up challenge, arriving in an array of creative costumes inspired by iconic Aussie favourites. From Bluey and Vegemite to a host of Bunnings-inspired outfits, the crowd showcased plenty of imagination, colour and humour. The Ormiston College Rock Bands also entertained the crowd with live performances.

Silent Night highlighted the power of sport to bring people together. The event was a fitting celebration of the community that defines Ormiston College.
