International soprano performer and Ormiston College old collegian Mirusia is planning a very special concert to be held at the College on Mother’s Day, Sunday 8 May 2016.
The concert is part of a national tour to celebrate the release of her new solo album, This Time Tomorrow, to be released in 2016,
Ormiston College is very pleased to welcome Mirusia back to the Lingo Lin Performing Arts Theatre, where her voice, often described as that of an angel, will once again delight Brisbane audiences.
This Time Tomorrow contains a mix of classical and musical songsthat offer a brighter tomorrow, ‘Music can transport people and help them in times of struggle, sadness and stress. So many of my fans who have contacted me, feel like they are whisked away momentarily from the world, when they listen to my music. This is why I love what I do. I want to help people, and to do this through music is magical, she explains.
Born in Brisbane, Mirusia graduated from Ormiston College in 2002 and attended the Queensland Conservatorium, becoming the youngest ever winner of the prestigious Dame Joan Sutherland Opera Award.
For the past nine years, Mirusia has toured extensively around the globe as the star soprano for Andre Rieu.
This is a very special performance at Ormiston College and a perfect gift for mum that will uplift spirits and provide a lasting memory of Mother’s Day 2016.
