To give a monetary donation that will assist in the making of wigs for children who have lost their hair due to various medical conditions, is greatly appreciated by certain charities. However, to go that extra mile by making the personal sacrifice of offering to donate one’s own hair, is a far greater decision to make.
Ormiston College is extremely proud of 23, Year 12 girls who took part in The Chop 2019 on Tuesday 15 October. The girls individually consented to have 20cm chopped for the cause, with the hair being donated to Children with Hair Loss, an organisation which donates wigs to children who have lost their hair due to medical issues.
The girls' generosity of heart and their very genuine wish to make a difference to those less fortunate, is to be greatly admired. Along with the donation of hair, our students raised over $18,000 for the Mater Chicks in Pink Foundation.
