Former Ormiston College Prefect, Niamh Conway, returned to our college last week to address Year 10 Business Management students. Last year, Niamh was one of the recipients of the $25,000 Westpac Young Technologist's scholarship for her business and information technology studies at Queensland University of Technology. She is currently in the second year of these studies.
Year 10 Business Management students are presently working on the Australian Business Week manufacturing and IT simulation. Part of this term’s assessment is to create a B2B (business to business) and B2C (business to consumer) website. Niamh spoke on marketing and how the approaches to the two sites differ because of the different users and hence requirements.
Niamh’s detailed and informative presentation was well received by our students and her work has been made available to students on Moodle so they can review the information. She has also offered to come back half way through the term to give students feedback on their website development.
We thoroughly enjoy having past students return to the College in such a capacity and we look forward to having even more alumni involved in our college in the future.
