Over 50 Year 6 students rose to the 2019 OCPreneur challenge and pitched their business ideas to a panel of experts including Entrepreneur Mr Steve Baxter, Headmaster Mr Webster, Business Manager Mrs Johal and Secondary School Subject Coordinator - Business Mr Molyneux.
The panel was very impressed by the students’ well thought out ideas and savvy pitches; they demonstrated true Ormiston College Spirit including teamwork, impeccable presentation skills and innovative ideas.
Mr Baxter and the panel selected Miranda Henville’s idea ‘Top Kit’ to be the recipient of the 2019 Entrepreneur award. ‘Top Kit’ is a new product to add to her established business, Panda in the Pantry. This unique idea ticked all the boxes and provided a fun and exciting product to add to her cake business.
The student’s next challenge is preparing their products for the OC Market Day early next term in the Junior School courtyard. They are also investigating the possibilities of taking their products to outside markets.
