The Environment Committee took part in the Schools Tree Day on Friday 27 July with 40 new native plants finding a home in the reserve behind the Early Learning Centre.
The associated National Tree Day, which will be held on Sunday 29 July, first started in 1996 and is Australia’s largest tree-planting event. Since its inception, more than 3.8 million people have planted 24 million trees and plants.
The Environment Committee was well supported by the school community with quite a number of students taking part in this important event.
Thanks go to everyone who either came down to support and plant; encouraged students to get involved; or loaned a shovel or spade for the event.
The students are looking forward to being able to see these plants grow and thrive over the next few years.
