The Lingo Lin Performing Arts Theatre was transformed by the Music Support Group elves last Friday in readiness for an evening of sumptuous food and musical magic. The evening began with a rendition of “So Let Us Sing” by Timothy Sherlock, which was performed by every student in our Choral program from Year 1 through to Year 12.
The gorgeous stylings provided by Kate Donnellon of Neals Event Hire set the scene for a very elegant evening.
All the choirs sang beautifully. The audience was wowed by the energy and charisma of the legendary Redback Chorus Boys and hearts were melted by the gorgeous singing of our youngest performers. While dinner was served, the guests were treated to solo and duo performances by our Senior Music students where the standard presented rivalled professional performers.
A huge thank you to the staff and students who work so hard every week to explore, learn and prepare music for public performances such as this. Thank you to our conductors Ms Maree Hall (Kinder Chorus, Pochino Choir and OC Singers) and Mr Jason Taggart (Redback Chorus) for all your guidance and hard work.
I would like to thank my students in OC Chorale, OC Chamber Singers and OCTAVE for all their hard work and fun in preparation for this event. Thank you to Chiara Gay and Emily Pearson for being such wonderful Masters of Ceremony throughout the evening!
Thank you also to our wonderful accompanists – Mrs Linda Muller (Pochino Choir and Redback Chorus), Miss Heather Kim (OC Chorale and Chamber Singers) and Ms Claire Brennan (OC Singers and Kinder Chorus).
The event was made possible thanks to the Music Support Group under the fantastic coordination of Mrs Kylie James. Thank you to all the parent helpers who helped to make this evening so special.
