Sport’s Night of Nights

Ormiston College Redbacks’ unprecedented success this year was celebrated at the 2018 Sports Awards Night this week.

The culture of participation in performance has seen Ormiston College take out the TAS Trimester 1, Trimester 2, Trimester 3 and Overall TAS Champion School; this was definitely something to celebrate, as were the impressive efforts of individual teams and players.

The guest speaker for the evening was Ormiston College alumna and 2018 Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist and World Record Holder (4x100m freestyle relay), Shayna Jack. The audience thoroughly enjoyed listening to her story.

There were many achievements to acknowledge during the night. Some of the major highlights were: Most Improved Team of the Year - First Girls Touch Football; Champion Team Award - First Boys Tennis; Most Improved Sport of the Year - Athletics; Most Successful Sport of the Year - Rugby; Coach of the Year - Kris Peterman; Sportswoman of the Year - Alexandra Neate; Sportsman of the Year - Sam Meaney.

Congratulations to all Redbacks!
